The mission of Grace Flight of America is to help people in need of free air transportation for medical and humanitarian purposes. It is our goal to remove the transportation burden from patients so they can get to specialized medical treatment not available to them locally and focus on getting well. Many of our patients do not have access to conventional transportation or are too ill to drive or fly commercially. Grace Flight is here to help!   Completely free of charge!   Grace Flight of America relies completely on volunteer pilots and donations from individuals, foundations, clubs and corporations.

Grace Flight of America has a New

Executive Director

ADDISON, TEXAS JULY 01, 2010 -- Grace Flight of America (formerly Angel Flight South Central) has announced that Tim Dammon has been named their new Executive Director and Chief Executive effective July 1, 2010. Mr. Dammon brings significant experience in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors to bear on Grace Flight’s mission of easing the burden of transportation for thousands of Americans who travel great distances to access care for cancer and other major health conditions.

After several years in the technology industry in senior management roles with Compaq Computer Corporation, Gateway Computers, and Iomega Corporation, Dammon transitioned to the social sector serving as Vice President and Chief Relationship Officer of The Seed Company (a global Bible translation company) and President of Empowering Church Healthcare Outreach (ECHO), an organization focused on helping start volunteer based healthcare clinics to serve America’s uninsured and underinsured.

In making the announcement, Phil Eggers, Chairman of Grace Flight’s board of directors stated, “We know that Tim Dammon’s leadership and experience is exactly what Grace Flight needs. The devotion and generosity of our more than 1300 pilot volunteers who fly patients using their own time, aircraft, and fuel with no reimbursement is exceeded only by the need for Grace Flight as we continue to identify thousands of people for whom transportation is the most significant barrier to life saving medical care. We believe that Tim has the skill and experience we need to engage additional volunteer pilots, deepen our relationship with our generous financial investors, and build enhanced partnerships in the medical community, all in order to serve more Americans in need.”

Grace Flight of America flew more than 1,600 missions last year and is on track to increase that number by 50% for the current year. The volunteer pilots and aircraft owners who serve with Grace Flight generously provide their time, their equipment, and even their own fuel and operating costs with no reimbursement. Grace Flight works with hospitals; care facilities; and social, community, and religious workers to identify people whose access to critical care is hampered due to location or transportation difficulties. All Grace Flight services are provided free of charge to those in need. Grace Flight is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation headquartered in Addison, Texas and operates nationwide either directly or through cooperation with other volunteer pilot organizations.
